Garvin honored for service

FAIRBANKS — James Garvin of AT&S was recently recognized for his service to the Fairbanks chapter of the Alaska Support Industry Alliance.

In addition, Howard “Buzz” Otis of Forbes Storage in Fairbanks was elected to a three-year directorship of the state group. Also elected were Kevin Durling of Petroleum Equipment and Service in Anchorage and Richard Faulkner of Steelfab in Anchorage. Otis and Faulkner are former directors.

Six people from Anchorage were re-elected to the alliance’s 21-member board. They include John Dittrich of Bethel Services Inc.; Mark Hylen, Beacon Occupational Health and Safety Services; Patrick Walsh, Peak Oilfield Service Co.; Tom Walsh, Petrotechnical Resources Alaska; and Lon Wilson, The Wilson Agency.

The alliance is a trade organization representing more than 430 companies and 35,000 professionals that provide goods and services to the oil, gas and mining industries in Alaska.
