ANCHORAGE -- A person linked to the Halloween robbery of candy from seven trick-or-treaters in Talkeetna has struck a plea deal.
Aaron Tolen was charged with obstruction in the heist case, and then linked to other thefts in the area.
Under the deal, the charges will be consolidated into one robbery count. He faces seven years if the court approves the deal.
Alaska State Troopers said the robbery occurred Oct. 31 as the children, ages 10 and 11, made their Halloween rounds on Talkeetna's Main Street.
Two women wearing ski masks jumped from a truck and pointed a revolver at the children, demanded candy, then fired one shot into the air. Troopers say they stole six bags of candy and an iPhone.
Troopers say Tolen lied to investigators about the whereabouts of his girlfriend. After their arrest, troopers linked the group to other robberies.
