Alaska Buddhist Center
Alaska Buddhist Center — Rimay Tenzin Ling meets Monday and Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Unitarian Church, 4448 Pikes Landing Road. Monday meetings focus on a program, and Wednesday meetings are based on alternating weekly with meditations on the Heart Sutra and a practice “Tong Len,” the exchanging of all suffering for love and compassion. On Monday, the program will be a reading and discussion of an article by Geshe Paldon Drakpa on Buddhist beliefs about the creator and creation of the universe, followed by a planning meeting for the visit of Tibetan lama Yeshi Tulku Rinpoche who will be in Fairbanks Sept. 25-29. Bible Baptist Church

Fairbanks Lutheran Church, 1012 Cowles St., begins fall worship times with a traditional service at 8:30 a.m. and contemporary service at 11 a.m. Interim Pastor Bill Ottum will deliver the sermon. Holy Communion is celebrated at both services, with a time for coffee and fellowship after each service. Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m. with rally day registration, games, music and a snack. University Baptist

Presbyterian
University Community Presbyterian Church, 3510 College Road, holds Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. Pastors Samuel and Janice Adams will preach their last sermon at the church. A potluck will be held in their honor following the service.

Sunday school for children and adults begins Sept. 14 at 9:30 a.m. Living Waters returns Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m., with worship, study, food and fun.
Zion Lutheran
