Judge orders Palin staff private e-mails preserved

Published Wednesday, October 15, 2008

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A state judge has ordered that private e-mails used by Gov. Sarah Palin and her staff to conduct state business must be preserved.

But Anchorage Superior Court Judge Craig Stowers on Wednesday refused to immediately order Palin and her staff to quit using private e-mail accounts for state business.

Stowers made the decision in a lawsuit brought by Anchorage resident Andree McLeod against Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee.

McLeod contends that public records could be lost, or that public access could be obstructed, if the e-mails are not archived in the state system.

Assistant Attorney General Mike Mitchell says Palin no longer uses private e-mail for state business but he's not sure about others in her office.

Why should she not be able to delete her private emails. Even if she used them for state business, it was from her private account!!! It's her personal account and we should not be granted access to its contents.

Sarah is our hope for the future. She'll be returning to Alaska in November to become a grandmother and remain our governor until we kick her butt out in the next election.

The initial hoopla that moved the nation when she was nominated really has died out after she wasn't able to answer any questions without being all folksy!

This was probably the most embarassing advertisement for the State of Alaska ever. But let's all stick our heads in the snow and forget about it.

Pray away the gay, see Russia from your house and pretend this never happened.

    Welcome President Obama!

Andree McLeod is a Repub. who ran for office in Anchorage. Apparently she was a Palin appointee and it didn't work out.

What will the State do about the use of the personal email accounts? Hmmm, my guess says nothing.

The State needs to crack down on this now. Use of personal email accounts for State business is not a good idea.

Hopefully the Legislature will pass a law next session outlawing the use of personal e-mail for public office. I'd definitely support such a move.
