FAIRBANKS — Diann Darnall of Fairbanks won three silver medals on Wednesday in table tennis at the Huntsman World Senior Games in St. George, Utah.

Darnall took runner-up in women’s singles for the 55-59 age group, then joined Geri Growkinsky of Las Vegas in women’s doubles and Andy Hutzel of Eagle River in mixed doubles to also take second in those events.

“It’s a great opportunity to play with other table tennis enthusiasts with different playing styles,” Darnall said in a press release. “I’m having a wonderful time meeting active seniors from all over the world. They inspire me!”

The Huntsman World Senior Games, with 25 sports this year, is an Olympic-format international event for athletes age 50 and older. It was founded more than 20 years ago and annually hosts more than 9,500 athletes.
