Coast Guard rescues man from sinking vessel in Prince William Sound

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A 67-year-old man is safe thanks to a rescue from the Coast Guard.

The man's boat ran aground Wednesday on rocks in Passage Canal in Prince William Sound and began sinking.

The man used his cell phone at about 2:30 p.m. to call Seward police and the department relayed the call to the Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard helicopter from Kodiak reached the man at about 5:40 p.m.
