Alaska Supreme Court clears way for Palin ethics inquiry

Published Thursday, October 9, 2008

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Alaska's Supreme Court has refused to shut down an ethics investigation into Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee.

The decision Thursday sets the stage for state lawmakers to release a report on their investigation Friday. The report could prove to be an embarrassment for Palin and a distraction for John McCain's presidential campaign in the final weeks of the race.

Lawmakers are investigating whether Palin abused her power to settle a family dispute. Her former public safety commissioner says he was dismissed after resisting pressure to fire a state trooper who had gone through nasty divorce from Palin's sister.

Republican lawmakers had sued to block the report, saying it had become politicized.

I wonder how McCain's little lapdog, Palin, is going to be able to maintain her Polly Purebred image as more and more unsavory facts unfold about her dealings? Soon, she is going to have to explain the "extra help" they had in building their "Joe Six-Pack" $.5 million home, too.
My, my, but this is getting quite entertaining!

dobieman their house is assessed by the Mat-Su borough at over $500,000.00 and we all know that assessments are never over valued. Yeah right. Guess I better never run for office or I would have to explain how I built my home and other properties with help from family, friends and neighbors like most people I know. I think it used to be called a barn raising!

Can't wait to see the report. Politicians only sue when they are wanting to hide stuff from public knowledge. Sarah's no different than Stevens or Young.

The Palin/McCain campaign would have been better off just letting the investigation go ahead without interference. Their choice to try a cover-up was disheartening, showing as it did the wrong instincts for leadership of our land.

Looks like all of you are so excited that you are wetting on yourselves just waiting for the outcome of the "tasergate" investigation. Like most of these political biased findings nothing will be accepted by either party.
