WASILLA -- A $200,000 ambulance that had responded to a Glenn Highway crash was demolished when it was struck by a pickup pulling a trailer.
The ambulance was parked on the Knik Arm Bridge shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday.
Alaska State Troopers say 54-year-old Wesley Rogers of Anchorage was driving north and lost control of his pickup, which was pulling an all-terrain vehicle trailer.
The pickup struck the ambulance, then hit a pickup driven by 20-year-old Sean Hickey of Anchorage that was involved in the previous crash.
Rogers' vehicle was demolished. Hickey's vehicle received about $2,000 damage.
Total damage to the three vehicles is estimated at $218,000.
Troopers issued Rogers a citation for speeding.

If only there was a way for people to recognize emergency vehicles and slow down. Maybe paint them red and put lights on them. You really cant cite people for leaving their brain at home.
