New York City developer's banner pokes fun at Palin

Published Friday, October 3, 2008

NEW YORK -- A New York City developer cashing in on current events has hung a giant banner on a luxury building under construction that reads: "Sarah Palin / Live here / See Wall Street."

The banner refers to last month's interview, where the Republican candidate for vice president told ABC's Charles Gibson that "you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska."

That inspired developer Jeff Levine of Douglaston Development Corp. to hang a seven-story tall banner from a tower under construction in Brooklyn's trendy Williamsburg area on Thursday, before the debate between the candidates for vice president in St. Louis.

Levine says that with the "economic climate we're currently living in, a little humor at the expense of our elected officials is probably in good taste." And it brings attention to his condos for sale.
