Murphy Dome Roam
It’s time for runners to get out of town for the annual rite of spring known as the Murphy Dome Roam.
The 11-mile race is scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday. The course starts at the gravel pit at 8 Mile Murphy Dome Road (just past Richard Berry Drive) and winds through the scenic middle reaches of Murphy Dome.
The event provides a great early-season workout to test your fitness level. Two water stops are provided en route, as well as refreshments at the finish.
There is no entry fee. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m., and the race starts promptly at 9. Due to safety concerns and Running Club North policy, dogs are not allowed.
The race will be timed through 2 1/2 hours. Runners who may take longer are asked to start early and time themselves.
Prizes will be awarded to random finishers, first male, first female, and final official finisher.
All participants, supporters and volunteers are invited to the Lanford’s house for a potluck following the race. For more information, contact Jane Lanford at jane@usibelli.com or Donna Hawkins at 455-9017.
