Published Wednesday, July 23, 2008

BETHEL -- A 20-year-old Mountain Village man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for his uncle's murder.

A Bethel Superior Court sentenced on Darren Peterson on Tuesday for second-degree murder, but suspended 26 years of the sentence. That leaves him to serve 19 years.

Alaska State Troopers say Peterson was convicted in the July 2007 murder of his uncle, William Peterson.
