Man killed at Southeast Alaska lumber yard

Published Monday, July 21, 2008

ANCHORAGE -- A Thorne Bay man was killed this weekend at a lumber sorting yard outside Klawock.

Alaska State Troopers say 33-year-old Christopher Robin Gould was run over by a front-loader at Viking Lumber.

The business is one of the largest sawmills in Southeast Alaska, where the timber industry has been in decline for years.
