Driver dies after hitting power pole in Nikiski

Stumble It!NIKISKI — A 25-year-old man died after his vehicle went off the road and hit a power pole.
Authorities in Soldotna received an emergency call about the accident Monday evening.
The report was that the vehicle went off the road at about mile 26 of the Kenai Spur Highway.
The Nikiski Fire Department responded to the scene.
Les Rappe was the only person in the vehicle. He was taken to Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna where he was pronounced dead.
