JUNEAU, Alaska -- Power has been restored for about 5,000 customers in downtown Juneau and parts of Douglas Island who lost power for nearly 90 minutes.

Officials say power went out just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Alaska Electric Light & Power had said the cause is from a tree affecting a power line, but specifics still weren't immediately available.

Some government buildings, like the Capitol, were not affected because they have backup power systems.
