Body found in Tanana River

FAIRBANKS — Alaska State Troopers recovered the body of a man found floating in the Tanana River on Sunday evening.
Sgt. Rick Roberts said recreational boaters found the man’s body and called for help. Troopers retrieved the body from the river about 8 p.m., he said. A medical examiner will identify the man, he said.
Roberts declined to say where along the river the boaters found the man other than it was west of the Fairbanks city limits. He said the state will compare the man’s identification to its active missing persons cases after the medical examiner makes an identification.
Troopers had difficulty telling how long the man, who was Caucasian, had been in the water, Roberts said. He said he did not think officers saw immediate signs that the man had been a victim of violence but could not elaborate.
“The investigation is on hold until we can get an ID on the body,” Roberts said.

Hard to believe but such a small article grabs my attention more than most. My brother went missing in the spring of 1996 and everytime we have a body come up on the rivers in the spring (or whenever) I know my mom is holding her breath. Sad thing is that this happens every year in this town so I know that there are more people out there with that same feeling and my heart goes out to them.
JB, how awful. I hope your family will soon be able to have an end to this nightmare.

I sent you an email, can't tell if it worked, did you get it?
