Three people stabbed in two Anchorage confrontations

Published Tuesday, August 19, 2008

ANCHORAGE -- Anchorage police say three people have been stabbed in separate incidents.

Police spokeswoman Anita Shell says all victims from the late Monday stabbings were in stable condition Tuesday.

In the first incident, a woman and two men took a cab to a liquor store. She emerged and offered one man his change, but Shell says the man claimed he was being shorted. Shell says he got out of the cab, stabbed her and took off on foot.

The cab driver followed the man. Police were alerted, and made an arrest.

In the other incident, two brothers were outside a restaurant near the Northern Lights and Lake Otis intersection when they were approached by another man, asking for a cigarette.

When one was offered, Shell says a struggled followed, and the man stabbed both brothers before fleeing. Police are looking for the assailant.

Crips are blue, Bloods are red (it is easy to remember since blood is generally red)
