Alaska Buddhist Center
The Alaska Buddhist Center — Rimay Tenzin Ling meets Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4448 Pikes Landing Road.
Monday meetings feature a program and discussion on Buddhism and its practice in Tibet. Silent meditation begins after doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the program starting at 6:15. This Monday features the second half of the film “Vajra Sky over Tibet,” an in-depth look at Tibetan life, culture, religion and history.
On Wednesday night, doors open at 5:30 for a period of Shamatha and Vipassana meditation, alternating weekly on the method of “Exchange Meditation” and the Heart Sutra on the concept of “emptiness.” Regular members of the group are pleased to explain the practice to newcomers and visitors. Bible Baptist Church
