Wasilla police look for driver who hit construction flagger and fled

WASILLA — Police in Wasilla are looking for the driver of a car that hit a flagger in a construction zone.
The impact broke the car’s windshield. And the car carried the flagger about 100 feet before the driver fled the scene early Wednesday morning on the Parks Highway.
Deputy Chief Greg Wood says the flagger was taken to the local hospital with multiple injuries. Police have not identified the victim other than saying it’s a 25-year-old Palmer woman.
A dump truck tried to block the car from leaving after the accident. However, the car -- described as a maroon older model sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla -- was able to get away.
The hit-and-run happened at about 1:30 a.m. The flagger was working on a crew repaving the road near Parks Highway and Lucas Road.

Time to call the auto body/glass shops.
Stand up, ya coward, and take your punishment. Now that you're sobered up.
IDIOT.
It's no fun standing in front of traffic when you realize they just might not stop. Some people just don't get it. "I didn't see you," they say. There's a reason flaggers wear safety orange from head to toe and have a 6-foot tall stop sign. I hope they'd stop for a kid in the road.
All flaggers are trying to do is keep you safe and get the road work finished as quickly as possible. Really, they're not trying to screw up your day.
Although... this doesn't sound like the typical "I didn't see you" not-paying-attention driver...
