ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is promising to visit more cities than a conventional book tour when her memoir "Going Rogue" is published later this month.

Palin says the locations of her book tour will be announced later this week by her publisher, HarperCollins. But in a Facebook posting Tuesday, the former Alaska governor says she's decided to travel to cities outside of the typical book tour venues.

Her book hits stores Nov. 17. Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" the day before the book release.

Palin says she's also trying to line up other interviews with hosts such as Bill O'Reilly, Barbara Walters and Rush Limbaugh.

dobie, I think you are quite right. The Upstate NY election showed that folks are not quite ready for the extreme Palin/Beck/Limbaugh version of AMerica. But what happened here in Jersey also shows that nothing Obama could do or say would change the subject from the fact that Corzine had to go--even the fact that Christie was hardly anyone's first choice. So if the Republicans are smart and paying attention, they start thinking NOW about whom amongst them is more mainstream and palatable, and Obama will indeed be in trouble in 2012.

But of course, that person isn't Palin. She will be seeking "unconventional" speaking venues because, were she to show up in major metro areas down here, she would be laughed off the stage. If she comes to Philly and I have nothing better to do, I may go. Then again, I could have seen her when she spoke in Fairbanks, but instead, I went for a drive...

jrooster.....if you want a proven quitter leading your ranks, that's fine by us "bitter Alaskans". We know from experience what she's worth. Why do you think we were so happy to see her go?

But before you "crow" too loudly....

In a first test of her political power in the Lower '48, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, and Michelle Malliken (sp?) pulled out all the stops in supporting their extreme right-wing candidate for N.Y.'s 23rd district seat.

He lost. The seat was won by a Democrat in yesterday's elections.

So, if history is anything by which to judge, Sarah is probably stomping around her hotel room, crying and pouting the way Levi said she did after losing the national elections back in November.

I remember the tears glistening in her eyes as she and Todd and the McCains went out onto the dais following their concession. What a glorious night! Obama won and Sarah stood there crying like a poodle in lipstick about to throw a tizzy fit.

Yep...take her, please. Keep her down there as long as you want. She quit being a real Alaskan months ago. She's only fit for Lower '48 duty, now.

Ah dobieman, get wtih the program like the rest of America. You bitter Alaskans need to understand you lost what you had in gov Palin, you sent her off to the rest of the country and they are happy to receive her and she will make money off it. As Forrest once said, stupid is, stupid does. And that is what alot of Alaskans are today, stupid for not realizing what they had.

So watch and weep dobieman, along with your fellow obamanites. Change you can freaking believe in.

Palin 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's just marvelous the way she's going to be spending all this time with her family by going on book tours. After all, isn't that one of the reasons she gave for quitting her term early? (The family time, not the book tour...ahem.)

BTW..why, with a degree in journalism, did she feel the need to hire a ghostwriter for the "autobiography" written in "her own words"?
