Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival to host winter Gospel choir

FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival has begun registration for its Winter Gospel Choir, featuring visiting director Bobby Lewis and pianist Eustace Johnson.

The workshop will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 20-23, and 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at University Community Presbyterian Church. The final performance, “A Celebration of Black History in Story and Song,” takes place 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at Zion Lutheran Church. Registration is $80.

Lewis and Johnson have been coming to Fairbanks for the past nine years from New York City to lead the FSAF Winter and Summer Gospel Choir. The event is open to ages 15 and older, and no previous training is necessary.
