Assault
• Dana Byron Hovater, 51, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault after he allegedly yelled at his ex-girlfriend Tuesday at their Lakeview Terrace home. The woman told Alaska State Troopers she was afraid Hovater might assault her, according to charging documents.
• Lyndon Vega Pasilan, 44, of Fairbanks, was charged with third-degree felony assault after he allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill a woman if she left his mobile home Tuesday in the 700 block of 18th Avenue. Afterward, he reportedly drove her to the downtown courthouse and forced her to dissolve a protective order against him. He faces additional charges of interfering with the report of a crime involving domestic violence and violating a protective order.
• Cara Schrader, 19, of North Pole, was charged with fourth-degree assault after she allegedly punched and kicked her mother May 27 in Circle.
• Andrew Daniel Vavra, 32, of North Pole, was charged with fourth-degree assault after he allegedly wrapped his hands around his sister’s neck and pushed her down May 17 in the 1200 block of Airline Drive.
Burglary
Alaska State Troopers received a report Wednesday night that several high-value items were stolen from a Durhman Circle home. Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area is asked to call troopers at 451-5100.
Drugs
Anthony Roshon Brown, Jr., 18 of North Pole, was charged with fourth-degree drugs misconduct, a felony, after North Pole High School officials reportedly found him with a tinfoil pipe he had used to smoke marijuana Tuesday. Brown told North Pole police he smoked marijuana while coming back from his lunch break, according to charging documents.
DUI
Ricky Meadows, 31, of Fairbanks, was charged with driving under the influence after Fairbanks police stopped him Tuesday afternoon for driving through a stop sign at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Turner Street.
Meadows failed field sobriety tests and his saliva tested positive for the presence of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. A drug recognition exam also showed him to be impaired by the effects of cannabis, according to charging documents.
